Film Noir Photoshoot!

ArseniaAimeeShootB&W

On Christmas Eve, I stopped in to see my amazing friend and genius hairdresser Arsenia Barias at her salon, Altagracia Unisex. I decided I wanted to try something new for the upcoming year and after watching the film for “Water For Elephants” (one of my favorite books of all time), I was very inspired by Reese Witherspoon’s 1920’s/1930’s chic bob! Mila Kunis Goes Retro: Miss Dior Fall 2012 Ad Campaign

Following in her “Black Swan” co-star Natalie Portman’s footsteps, Mila Kunis is now the new face of Miss Dior. While her Spring 2012 campaign was beautiful, she really knocked it out of the park with this surprisingly retro look for fall.

I’ve loved her ever since I saw her for the first time on “That 70’s Show”, (one of my guilty pleasures).  While her character Jackie Burkhart was a spoiled, bossy and often times mean-spirited teen, she has since showcased her acting versatility in major motion pictures like “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and  “Friends With Benefits”. Not to mention being the voice of Meg Griffin on Family Guy!

These amazing black and white  photographs, taken by Mario Sorrenti, depict Ms. Kunis as a glamorous 1950’s starlet being hounded by photographers. She looks oh so chic in her jeweled sweater, pencil skirt and of course her classic crocodile chain link handbag!

Just gorgeous! Mila, you are pin up perfection 😉

Girl About Town: The Lovely Aurora

I have been wanting to do a regular post about women on the streets of NYC for a while now. Every time I saw an outfit or a hairstyle that I wanted to photograph, I didn’t have my camera with me! Luckily, earlier this week I spotted the lovely Aurora while shopping on Clinton Street and I just happened to have my Nikon handy!  Continue reading

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow…

Hey there Guys and Dolls! I am cutting my locks in a couple of weeks and I am having a difficult time deciding what exactly I should do with it. It has never been this quite this long before (it is now down to my butt!) and I think it is time to let it go. That being said, deciding on a new style/length is way more trying than I had anticipated. I plan to donate 10-18 inches to charity and am willing to go super short. I’ve been pouring over various photos and magazines trying to find something I like. I have narrowed it down to a few choices I think will work for me. What do you guys think?

My current state of affairs, lol

The longest of the bunch, like the lovely Rita Hayworth?

Shorter and full-bodied, a la Jane Russel?

Just above the shoulder, like the stunning Liz Taylor?

Or a classic shoulder length page-boy, like the beautiful Gene Tierney?

Any other suggestions are welcome, thanks for your help 🙂
