Vintage Inspired Beauty Products Under $10.00!

I have always been a sucker for pretty packaging. If I had a choice between two identical products but one had a beautiful label and the other didn’t, I would likely go with the nicer looking one! It seems that products of yesteryear had much more decorative and elaborate packaging than their contemporary counterparts. Artful drawings, elegant fonts, metal tins, beveled glass bottles and other little touches made these items appear special.  Continue reading

Girl About Town: The Lovely Aurora

I have been wanting to do a regular post about women on the streets of NYC for a while now. Every time I saw an outfit or a hairstyle that I wanted to photograph, I didn’t have my camera with me! Luckily, earlier this week I spotted the lovely Aurora while shopping on Clinton Street and I just happened to have my Nikon handy!  Continue reading

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow…

Hey there Guys and Dolls! I am cutting my locks in a couple of weeks and I am having a difficult time deciding what exactly I should do with it. It has never been this quite this long before (it is now down to my butt!) and I think it is time to let it go. That being said, deciding on a new style/length is way more trying than I had anticipated. I plan to donate 10-18 inches to charity and am willing to go super short. I’ve been pouring over various photos and magazines trying to find something I like. I have narrowed it down to a few choices I think will work for me. What do you guys think?

My current state of affairs, lol

The longest of the bunch, like the lovely Rita Hayworth?

Shorter and full-bodied, a la Jane Russel?

Just above the shoulder, like the stunning Liz Taylor?

Or a classic shoulder length page-boy, like the beautiful Gene Tierney?

Any other suggestions are welcome, thanks for your help 🙂

XOXO

Drugstore Delight of the Month: Jordana Easy Liner for Lips

This month’s post is a wee bit late (As it is almost the end of the month, lol) but its a good one!

As a retro pin up with vintage style, one of the key looks in your make-up arsenal is a bold red lip! Being an old-school kinda gal, a coordinating lip liner is essential for me in getting my lips just right. I know many women shy away from lip liner, but it is a huge component in making your lipstick stay in place and last all day. Just as a belt can define your waist, a liner can add definition to your unique lip shape! Continue reading
