Drugstore Delight of the Month: Wet N Wild’s Mega Last Matte Lipstick #967 Dollhouse Pink

Hey Dolls, I know it’s been a while since I posted a DDOTM feature ( I think I skipped a month!) so I will try to make this one as swell as possible šŸ˜‰

I recently discovered a new shade of Wet n Wild’s Mega Last lipstick that really took me by surprise. While I have been a fan of this product for some time and have recommended it to y’all in previous postings ( i.e. Orange Pinup Lipstick), this colour is seriously impressive. For a cheapie lipstick, the colour intensity rivaled that of a high-end product. The consistency was wonderfully opaque andĀ shockingly full-bodied and bold.Ā Ā And the shade itself? This is a pink that one would encounter in Barbie’s dreamhouse! It’s the quintessential girly girl shade of bright pink. It’s very clear with blue undertones.Ā  Continue reading

L’Ensemble Du Jour: Betsey in Black

Last week I was looking through my closet and found this little black Betsey Ā Johnson dress. I bought it at a thrift shop a few weeks back and decided that today was the day to bring her out into the world. Sometimes, you’ll have a fancy dress laying around collecting dust for years waiting for the proper occasion to beĀ debuted. In true Betsey fashion, I decided to wear this dress and hat justĀ because! Some days you just want to feel pretty, and what better way to get there than by wearing a full skirted lace dress with an elegant feathered hat! Ā I met a lot of wonderful people that day while walking around the city, but had I opted to wear something lessĀ extravagant, I may not have had the opportunity.

Hey Sailor Launch Party @ M.A.C. Store in SOHO!

Last night I was invited to the M.A.C. store to celebrate the launch of their latest collection entitled Hey Sailor!Ā I was so excited about this line as it was inspired by the classic American pin-up girls of the 1940’s.

The place was jam-packed with gorgeous gals and dapper boys all decked out in custom sailor hats and nautical attire while the DJ was spinning out The Andrew Sisters, Benny Goodman and other swingtastic tunes. My favorite part of this event was the stunning woman they had tap dancing in the store window. She was dressed in a retro striped two-piece with her patent leather tap shoes and she looked amazing. People were practically pressed up against the glass to snap a photo of this girl!

While I did do my eye makeup before arriving, I made sure to leave my lips bare so I could try on all of the new lip-colours one by one! I have so say that M.A.C. lipstick is one of the best on the market. Not only do they smell like Haagen DazsĀ vanilla ice cream but their colours are vivid and long-lasting. My favorite shade of the night? Red Racer, although Sail La Vie was a close second. What can I say, I love a red lip!

I ended up running into some old friends and made some new ones while oohing and ahhing over the makeup. Nothing like a little retro glamour to bring fashionable peopleĀ together! I had a swell time!

XOXO
