Happy Birthday, Lucy!

I love Lucy, no really, I do. Lucille Ball is truly one of my idols. She single-handedly showed the world just how funny a woman can be after launching what went on to become one of the greatest television comedies of all time. Her impeccable timing combined with her array of facial expressions inspired a slew of female comedians in her wake .

Lucy was a triple threat; she could act, dance and sing. But did you know that before she got started in pictures, she was a model? In 1928, after moving to New York City to attend drama school, she landed her first modeling job with Hattie Carnegie! Lucy was a natural in front of the camera as her classic facial features and elegant poise simply radiated on film.

In honor of what would have been her 101st birthday this week, I thought I’d share some of Miss Ball’s most stunning vintage fashion photographs. Enjoy!

Until next time, Dolls!
