Today would have been Marilyn Monroe’s 86th birthday. I can’t help but wonder what sorts of amazing things she could have done in the past 50 years since her untimely death. But one thing is for certain, she certainly made her mark on this world in what little time she was in it.
Marilyn was a truly unique individual. Her spirit, her presence and her grace can be felt by anyone who has seen her face. A face that could launch a thousand ships and cause a muti-car pileup with a flash of her gorgeous smile. She was a rare flower that never faded. She single-handedly created a standard of beauty that is still highly regarded and sought after to this day. Men wanted to be with her and women wanted to be her.
But she wasn’t just a pretty face. Marilyn was a very eloquent, well-read and highly intelligent woman. Her quotes are so insightful and powerful that they ring true decades after they were first uttered. I often look to her for inspiration in both life and style.
Marilyn Monroe has always been one of my all-time favorite actresses. While she may not have won academy awards, her performances were always one of a kind. She could light up the silver screen with just a look, but when she spoke, her voice could set the screen ablaze.
All she ever seemed to want in this life was to be loved. I hope that wherever she is, she knows just how much people truly loved her then and how much they love and respect her now. She will live on forever in the hearts and minds of people all over the world and she will always have a very special place in mine.
